Well, here I go! I've spent the most of my day navigating through the waters of blogging! Of course this goes without saying...but just for the record, I have to say it before someone else gets to say/think it first, I am a novice at this and everything concerning blogging, twittering etc. So I'm sure if even one person follows my blog postings, things may change as I learn more about the design layout and the items I can attach for viewers.I'm pretty good at most mainstream communication tools such as emails, excel, PowerPoint, FB, and even texting. So if there are things I can do to improve, please let me know. I'm counting on you!
Like anyone else, the purpose for my blog is to have a vehicle or channel (See! It's all about traveling!) in which to actively participate in and practice my passion for writing. I want to communicate with you and invite you to communicate with me. It's sort of like this...I'm on one side of a very deep and wide canyon and you my friend are on the other side. We can't shout loud enough to hear one another, so we must send "something" we can see instead. Do you see it? Smoke signals! Yes, our Native Americans did just that. They sent messages to warn, invite, demand, and probably request the hand of the Chief's daughter in marriage. Well, maybe not that one. Because I'm sure they had to bring some sort of gift of food, horses or hides in person. But, you get my point. I wonder how they could keep a smoke signal message a secret from their neighbors? What did they do if they made a mistake in their message, or if one decided to cancel a war? They didn't have spell check or white out...hmmmm, I may need to think about that one for awhile. Any thoughts?
Alright, back to why you may be wondering why someone would choose a corny "traveling pants" sort of title/theme for their blog, right? Yes, I know...I thought the same thing, but in my defense, I could think of no better way to share present experiences other than to at times, travel back to my past. History, if we learn from it, and the only way to learn from it is to reflect or revisit it. I don't mean make the same mistakes of course, but to consider and talk about the things that made us grow. The things that challenged us and made us better/worse people than we were before. The two roads, past and present, do meet at various times and at keys points in our lives, at least if you watch for the signs you will know when it's time to look back and look forward. It's kind of like a dancing with a partner. Sometimes you move side to side, sometimes back and forth and sometimes someone steps on someone's toes. I know, I know another metiphore, but it's true. Life is a journey and like a dance between partners, that at times can be scary, yet exciting, terrifying, yet fun! That's life.
I've always wanted to travel the world...see exciting new places...learn about interesting cultures and the people that live in them, but that has not happen in my life...yet. Side note: Yes, I use a lot of these "..." but I like them. When I decide to use them is when I'm stopping for a moment, searching for the right word or phrase before I can continue. So, just know "..." will remain throughout my journal, at least for now. :)
For now I think I'm going to call it a night...so as long as I can post this entry correctly, someone should be able to read it. Good night and God bless!
Found ya ;)
